Framlingham is a lovely market town with a range of independent shops, cafes, pubs, a fish and chip shop and restaurants to visit from just over 150 metres away. It’s also home to a 12th century castle (just over 300 metres away); a magnificent fortress with a fascinating history it makes a great day out. Famously the multi-award winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran grew up and still lives in Framlingham and began writing songs inspired by the local area. His 2017 single ‘Castle on the Hill’ was inspired by the castle in his hometown. The popular seaside towns of Aldeburgh (14 miles) and Southwold (20 miles) are within easy reach.
